ActforPal is offering emergency support to master’s students currently residing in Gaza who started their studies before October 2023, who have displayed academic excellence, but who have faced difficulties in completing their programme due to financial hardship.

Tuition support is offered to help up to 10 top students in Gaza to complete their master’s degree. Initially, tuition fees will be provided for one semester, with additional semesters possible according to student needs and performance, and funding availability.

The program aims to support the next generation of researchers and educators, who will be essential for the reconstruction process. By covering tuition fees, the program also supports teaching and research staff from Gaza universities.

The first round of the scholarship programme is now open, with applications due by December 20, 2025. Subsequent rounds will be announced in 2026, subject to funding availability.

Candidates will be selected by the Palestinian scholars within the ActforPal network. Successful applicants will be notified by late December 2025 or early January 2026, and tuition fees will be paid in time for the first or second semester of 2026.

Scholarship funds will be transferred directly to the accounts of the universities in Gaza where the students are enrolled, via the licensed and registered charity The Welfare Association (Taawon UK).

In addition to tuition support, scholarship recipients will receive:

• Academic support: Supplementary academic guidance provided by international scholars, including feedback on coursework and dissertations.
• Research resource access: Coordinated access to digital academic resources and libraries from partner institutions abroad.

Eligibility Criteria

• Academic Enrolment: Must be currently enrolled in a master’s degree programme at a recognized Palestinian university in the Gaza Strip.
• Academic Progress: Must have completed a minimum of 9–12 credit hours (typically equivalent to one semester).
• Academic Achievement: Must hold a cumulative average of “Very Good” or “Excellent” (≥80%) in their master’s coursework.
• Exclusivity: Must not be receiving any other fellowships, scholarships, or tuition coverage at the time of application.
• Residency: Must be currently residing in the Gaza Strip.

Required Application Materials (to be submitted in Arabic or English)

• Personal Statement (1 page): Outlining academic goals, research interests, and motivation, including the impact of studies on Gaza’s reconstruction.
• Official Academic Transcripts: Showing completed coursework and grades.
• Proof of Enrolment: Official documentation from the university confirming current master’s programme enrolment.
• Proof of Residency in Gaza: Such as a national ID or university-issued statement.
• Dissertation Research Proposal (optional): If applying for dissertation-related support.

Given that students’ documentation may have been destroyed, flexibility will be adopted in this process.
